Kempsville Volunteer Rescue Squad has used this photograph in fundraising brochures and newspaper advertisements. Once graphic artists get ahold of it, they usually hand-apply a soft vignette to eliminate the power lines from the top right-hand corner. -- Kevin

The Virginia Beach Rescue Council has also used this photo in its advertisements, and the Virginia Beach Department of EMS described the response from potential new members as "tremendous". I styled the pose after a similar "reaching out for help" shot produced by Virginia Beach Rescue 14. -- Kevin
